Food and Culture. A love language…..

Since a very young age, I’ve been fascinated by food. The history, taste, flavors that intertwine to create lasting memories. Memories that are intertwined, with taste and flavors are long lasting. I’ve always been fascinated by how the smell of a particular dish is linked to a specific place and time. Most naturally a person is involved. Food connects us in so many ways. It’s a language that’s easy to speak and comprehend. It has the ability to provide comfort and warm hearts. My roots run deep from the southern parts of the U.S. and all the way through South Korea. The influence of both regions has greatly impacted my love for food, culture, and how they intersect. Food tells a story. I believe it tells a love story of how culture is deeply connected to food. Our history of our ancestors is embedded in every recipe. Stories unfold with each meal and are passed down through generations.

I’m Summer’s Flavors and this blog will explore some of my favorite, Korean, American and Southern recipes, while highlighting the most authentic restaurants that share pieces of their culture in every dish.

Welcome to Summers Flavors and happy eating.
